Our Patient Care Policies

At King Street Medical Centre, we take pride in providing our patients with high-quality healthcare services in a safe and comfortable environment. To maintain this level of care, we have established clinic policies that help us achieve these goals. Our policies are designed to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care and are treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. They cover a wide range of topics, including appointment scheduling, prescription refills, confidentiality, and communication.

HEALTH CARDS

Bring your health card to every visit as it is required for checking in. It's your responsibility to carry a valid health card. If you don't have your card with you or if it's invalid, you will be charged at the regular OHIP rates prior to being seen. Keep your health card up to date to ensure access to health care.

UNINSURED SERVICES

The Ontario government covers the cost of medically necessary services through OHIP. Any medical service not covered by OHIP is an uninsured service. Some examples of uninsured services are prescription refills by phone, missed appointments, and medical forms for insurance, legal or employment purposes.Any medical service not covered by OHIP is called an Uninsured Service. We have zero tolerance for abuse towards our staff, patients, and physicians. Abuse can take many forms including but not limited to intimidation, impatience, and manipulation. Incidents will be recorded and reported to the appropriate personnel. We will take corrective actions, if needed, up to and including termination of patient status/employment, involving peace keepers or permission to remain on the property, based on the severity of the incident.

MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS

Please inform the staff of the reason for your visit when you book your appointment. Most appointments are 15 minutes long. Your doctor, in your visit, will focus on your main concern and if necessary discuss plans for any other medical issues in future visits. Please understand, when you focus on your main concern it also helps the clinic better manage patient flow and appointments.

PATIENT CHECK-IN

Forms are available for patients to fill out prior to check-in, especially if it's the first visit. The forms are confidential and shredded after the visit.
